It is affiliated with Kalyani University〔(list_colleges.html )〕 and is approved by the University Grants Commission. The institute is small but the faculty consists of people who have worked with different media bodies. There are several teachers in the institute who also teach in the Calcutta University and Jadavpur University mass communication and journalism courses. The institute has a partnership with MILC, London.〔(flickr 5484166059 )〕 ==Institutional objective== The institution was created by such people as Pabitra Sarkar (ex-vice chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University and Vice-Chairman, West Bengal State Council for Higher Education〔(Pabitra Sarkar )〕) who have all excelled in their respective fields. It is primarily a non-profit organization whose main aim is to provide high-quality education in the fields of journalism and mass communication, coupled with film studies, as per the institute's stated objective. Although the institute does not have studios of its own, it does have close links with the Chalochhitra Shotoborsho institute, which is very near it.
